This week many Montanans received a text message that seemed to be from Alani Bankhead. Here is a screenshot:
While it seemed to be from Alani Bankhead’s campaign, there was no “paid for by” line at the bottom of the text, so it is unclear who this mysterious fundraising text message was actually from. We decided to explore the Federal Election Commission (FEC) website for clarity.
Upon a basic search we actually learned that this text message expenditure was actually paid for by the More Jobs, Less Government Political Action Committee (PAC), in support of Alani Bankhead.
This is the same PAC that supports Sen. Steve Daines and the National Republican Senate Committee. Even further, the Political Company is run by a known Republican operative in Montana.
Also don’t forget that while Republicans are sending text messages to Democrats on behalf of Alani Bankhead to keep her in the Senate race, they’re also issuing public polls that show her winning the Senate race, further deceiving Alani into thinking she will be Montana’s next Senator.
Many of us can see clear as day why Republicans are desperately trying to keep Alani Bankhead in the race. It’s because they know Kurt Alme wins if Alani stays in. The best chance Montana Democrats have to defeat MAGA candidate Kurt Alme in November is if Alani drops out and the state rallies behind the independent candidate.
